NightCoop Requirements for Cyberpunk 2077 Co-op
Check NightCoop's stated Windows, Cyberpunk 2077 version, RED4ext and matched-build requirements before installing the co-op mod.
What NightCoop says it requires
NightCoop is an unofficial co-op mod for Cyberpunk 2077. Its official page lists a small set of requirements that should be checked before anyone downloads or installs files:
- Windows PC
- Cyberpunk 2077 patch 2.31
- RED4ext
- The same NightCoop build for every player
The page also says Cyber Engine Tweaks is not required. Those details are more important than the file name or folder shown in a repost, because NightCoop is still changing and the supported game version can change with it.
Check the current release status first
As of October 22, 2026, the official NightCoop page says the mod is still in closed testing and that a public download is not yet available. Do not install a package that is presented as NightCoop unless the official site or another explicitly confirmed NightCoop channel provides it.
Read the current release status before changing your game files:
If a new build becomes available, recheck the requirements instead of assuming this page is still current.
Confirm the Cyberpunk 2077 version
The official page currently names patch 2.31. That does not mean every later patch will work automatically. It means 2.31 is the versioned compatibility statement available for this review.
Before installation:
- Confirm the Cyberpunk 2077 version shown by your platform or game installation.
- Confirm the version and build named by the official NightCoop source.
- Pause if the game has updated and the NightCoop source has not listed the new version.
Guessing here is risky because a game update and a mod update can happen on different schedules.
Prepare RED4ext
NightCoop lists RED4ext as a dependency. RED4ext is a separate project, so use its official project page for installation instructions and compatibility notes:
The NightCoop requirements list does not justify copying random DLLs from a repost or treating an old RED4ext build as current. Verify the dependency source, then verify that the NightCoop build expects the same game version.
Cyber Engine Tweaks is different: the official NightCoop page says CET is not required. Do not add CET just because another Cyberpunk mod uses it.
Match builds across the group
A co-op session is not only a local installation problem. Every player should use the same NightCoop build. If one Guest installed a different version, the group should stop and compare the actual version information before troubleshooting connection symptoms.
Use this group checklist:
- Everyone records the NightCoop build they installed.
- Everyone confirms the same Cyberpunk 2077 patch.
- Everyone confirms RED4ext is present.
- Everyone checks the final list against the current official NightCoop requirements.
The installation page expands this into a practical preflight sequence:
